Dinner Napkin Folds
The Crown Napkin Fold
Dinner napkin folds can some time require a fair amount of patience. The Crown fold is a good example of one. It is similar to the rosebud napkin fold but with difficult twist. This fold is not for those amongst us with OCD.
Step one:
Lay the napkin flat out in front of you.
A note on Tags and labels:
Because this fold shows both sides of the napkin when completed, it may be best to give it a couple of try’s to work out where the tags will be.
Step two:
Fold the napkin in half diagonally and then place it in front of you so the longest edge is facing you and the opening is pointing away.
Step three:
Fold the right corner up towards the top of the triangle.
Step four:
Fold the left hand side in the same way.
Step five:
You should now have a diamond in front of you with the openings at the top. Take the bottom and fold it back on its self about an inch away form the top.
Step six:
Take the tip of the fold you just made and fold that back on its self so it touches the bottom edge.
Step seven:
Flip the napkin over.
Step eight:
Wrap the left and right side around tucking them into one another.
Step nine:
Ten the napkin around and peal down the lose flaps. It may take a while for your napkin fold to look right but just keep at it. If your napkin isn’t holding shape try starching it before hand. You’ve completed you dinner napkin fold. Time to position them on the table and wait for the guests.
If you are finding it hard to get the symmetry of the crown fold a easier yet just as effective option is the rosebud napkin fold
